What is "Cultural Intelligence?"

Cultural intelligence is a necessary competency for the dynamic environment of the 21st century. We define cultural intelligence as:

1. Understanding how ethnic and cultural groups of people, at home and abroad, organize themselves and conduct business in ways that are uniquely theirs,
2. Appreciating why this is so, and
3. Having the skills and the patience to effectively influence people and organizations, different than one's own, toward outcomes that are mutually acceptable and beneficial.
