Our Principals
BiographyCarlos B. Gil, Ph.D. is the President of The GilDeane Group and he serves the GDG training team as a consultant, trainer and subject matter expert for Mexican, Latin American, and other international projects. He is publisher of Cultural Diversity at Work Archive. Carlos is also an Emeritus Professor of History at the University of Washington and former Director of the Latin American Studies Program of the Henry M. Jackson School for International Studies. He is bilingual in English and Spanish and speaks some Portuguese. He combines his academic knowledge with professional and practical living experience in various Latin American countries. Born in Southern California of Mexican immigrant parents, Carlos obtained his B.A. in history and philosophy from Seattle University and his master's degree from Georgetown University. He received his Ph.D. in History from University of California-Los Angeles. He worked for the U.S. Foreign Service on assignment in Latin America then settled in the Pacific Northwest.
